Fit Club in the community – June 2023

It’s been a busy few months at The Fit Club with gym improvements, new equipment and several fresh faces joining the team. Alongside all this we have also been working with local residents and charities to build our presence in the community. As a club, we truly believe in the power of health and fitness in maintaining a happy and healthy society. Mental and physical health are closely linked, our goal is to show the people of Redditch that we can improve their lives through fitness!

All of our memberships come with a free induction, including a training log book and starter programme. The idea is that whatever your fitness level and previous experience, you can get into a consistent training pattern at The Fit Club. In maintaining our health, consistency is the key. With that being the case, The Fit Club induction process is designed to give you the tools to get started and then stick at it!

Here are a few local examples of projects and charities that we are involved with:

Primrose Hospice

Primrose are a fantastic local charity who support patients with life-limiting illnesses as well as their families. We originally partnered with Primrose in 2022 as hosts of their annual ‘Danceathon’. More recently we produced a limited edition run of T-Shirts, with a cut of the proceeds going to the charity. Our upcoming project sees Primrose take centre stage at our upcoming Open Day on Saturday 8th July.

The day includes activities for members and non-members alike. Our goal is to reward are current members with a great day, whilst making a noise in the local community and spreading word of The Fit Club! Everyone is welcome at the day, so please do come down and say hello if you fancy it!

Aldi Fundraising

The team at Aldi recently organised ‘Bike4Bill’. Bill is an employee at Aldi who has cancer in it’s later stages. Aldi employees from Bromsgrove, Evesham and Studley came to together and organised the event in which the team used Spin Bikes supplied by The Fit Club to cycle as far as possible. It was a fantastic day and the team raised over £3000 for Bill and Teenage Cancer Trust. A great effort by all!

Menopause talk

We recently hosted CreatePT, a provider of fitness education services, for a talk on the impacts of Menopause and the repercussions for fitness training. The talk was open to members and non-members alike, providing valuable insights to the (largely) female group of attendees. There are a lot of misconceptions about menopause, and the talk went some way to debunk common myths. Keep an eye out on Facebook and Instagram for future talk announcements. We are keen to help develop the knowledge of our community and we have some really exciting speakers lined up for the future!

Thanks for taking the time to read our blog. If you have any questions, feedback or just fancy a chat we are here in club or available by phone and email. See you soon and happy training!
